FAQ
NKY Event Wi-Fi questions
How far in advance should I book temporary Wi-Fi?
One to two weeks is ideal, especially for larger events, so there is time to check the site and plan coverage. Short-notice and same-day requests are possible when equipment and schedule allow, so call and ask.
Where does the internet come from if my site has no service?
Your professional Wi-Fi network is backed by Starlink satellite internet and cellular LTE/5G backhaul, used alone or together with failover, and it can also tie into an existing venue line when one is available. The right mix is chosen after looking at the site, carrier signal, sky view and terrain.
How many people can connect?
It depends on how many people, what they are doing and how much upstream bandwidth is available at the site. Coverage and capacity are planned around your guest count and use case, such as point-of-sale, livestreaming, check-in or general guest access.
Do you handle setup and teardown?
Yes. Delivery, on-site installation, testing, and pickup after the event or project are included in every quote.
Can you cover outdoor areas like a field, tent or parking lot?
Yes. Outdoor-rated access points and point-to-point links can extend coverage across tents, lawns, lots and job sites. Range depends on layout, obstacles and available power.
Can the Wi-Fi network use my event or company name?
Yes. Custom network names (SSIDs) and passwords are available, along with separate networks for staff, vendors, point-of-sale and guests.
Is someone available if something goes wrong during the event?
Yes. The network is monitored during your event or rental period, and on-site support can be arranged for events where connectivity is critical.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
No. Rentals are short-term: a single day, a weekend, or weeks to months for construction and temporary offices. There is no long-term commitment.
What areas do you serve?
NKY Event Wi-Fi by Novak Networx is based in Union, KY and serves Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties, including Florence, Burlington, Hebron, Walton, Independence, Erlanger, Covington, Newport and Fort Mitchell, as well as nearby Cincinnati.
What speeds can I expect?
Speeds depend on location, cellular carrier signal, Starlink sky visibility and terrain. After reviewing your site details, you get a realistic estimate in your quote rather than a generic promise.
